State Project: Paws of War
The mission of Paws of War is to alleviate the suffering of veterans, first responders, and their families, particularly those battling invisible wounds like Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, by providing them with loyal service dogs that become companions and catalysts for healing. The organization also works to rescue and rehabilitate dogs and cats in dire straits as well as reunite military personnel with the animals they formed bonds with during service. This year, Maryland C.A.R. will raise awareness and funds in support of Paws of War, as well as participate in service initiatives with a focus on veterans. Additionally, members and seniors and encouraged to grow and support Maryland C.A.R. membership.
Program: Support Paws of War by raising awareness and funds in support of the organization's programs. Promote Paws of War with Maryland DAR and SAR chapters while publicizing in the community and on social media. Log 250 minutes of service supporting veterans. Recruit new members while supporting current societies.
